Why I created this workshop.
I created this workshop as a safe space for children to just to be them.
It is a different world for them than we grew up. With social media and technology being a big part of their lives, mental health issues on the rise for young people whether it's due to bullying or constant images that are geared to tell them they aren't good enough.
I wanted to counteract the negativity. While feeling all the range of emotions that make us human it is ok to want to feel good within ourselves.
It's not really something that we are taught at a young age. We then try to navigate our emotions when we are challenged by experiences in our lives when we are older.
I wanted a fun way for your children to learn emotional literacy and having ways to build their emotional strength, resilience and confidence.
I want to teach children to feel great within themselves and to brighten up the world by being exactly who they are.
I know that when children are allowed to shine their light they will change the world.
Just wanted to say THANK YOU Michelle Smith for everything you have done for my daughter. Last year, Izzy was asked to run for one of the leadership roles at school. She didn't want to, didn't really want to talk about so we left it alone. This week, she's back at school and has again been asked to run for a leadership role ... this time she said YES...AND she's actually excited about it!
Whatever you taught her at the HAPPY GIRLS (AKA Confident Kids) workshops has obviously WORKED! Her CONFIDENCE has grown - and I just love seeing her this way.
So THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart.

"This has been such an amazing addition to our homeschooling experience for Mr 10. He is learning to feel good by working on the things that make him happy, what he's grateful for amongst other activities in this workshop. Michelle has such a nurturing vibe and its lovely to hear her voice guiding my little man through each activity."
